    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I personally would recommend this class to anyone with a strong love of history. It's definitely not boring and you definitely learn a lot.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much, from the settlement of Jamestown to Nixon's Watergate scandal. We learned a great deal about events surrounding the Civil War and the Gilded Age, and it was all (to me at least) quite fascinating.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take your notes. Look over your notes. If you wait til the last minute to do stuff, just make sure it's good. Don't just memorize the material, LEARN it. Know it. Organize the events in your head, know the reasons behind them.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class really helped my GPA and Mrs. Jessup really prepared us for college in a very realistic way. She modeled it after the community college course she teaches, so we really learned how the material.

    Course highlights:

I learned some really important study techniques and how to write awesome History essays. She gave us great tips and showed us how to gather good information for research based projects. We also learned how to display and communicate our findings.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention when she gives lectures. She'll put that information on the tests. Also, don't ignore the worksheets she gives you. She may not go into great detail about them because you are expected to learn the material on the paper. You are going to see that stuff on the tests too.
