Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking AP Government because it truly opens your eyes to the government you're living under. This class sparked an interest in politics and government that I never thought I'd develop. Because of AP Government, I've learned how vital it is to read the books given to me for the course, study what I'm taught, and always stay hungry for success.

    Course highlights:

During the school year that I took this course, the 2016 Presidential Race and Campaigns were taking place along with many other elections. This allowed us to make real world connections with the material we were being taught and was definitely a highlight of the year. I learned almost everything I know about our government in the U.S. and it has helped me grow as a person and learn that it's healthy to question my government.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In AP Government it is very important to read the chapters being taught. Taking detailed notes, writing out vocabulary, and studying also helps a lot. If you're striving for a passing grade on the AP exam, also look into AP Central for previous test questions to practice.

    Course highlights:

I learned how a law is made, and pretty much everything else about The Challenge of Democracy. We had a Federalist debate that was very fun and informative!

It's for college credit, so work hard. If you aren't willing to put in the work, you won't pass the AP Exam.
