Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I absolutely love taking SUPA Spanish, especially with Sra. Landon! The class syllabus and lesson plans allow the class to be truly enjoyable as the majority of it is discussion based. In class, we do not sit there and write or read independently, but rather we discuss topics only in Spanish. Sra. Landon teaches the class very well and genuinely cares about all of her students, even the ones that don't do their homework. She understands the stresses that students go through, especially seniors, and adapts based on our worries. For example, she allowed me to take a test one day early because I wasn't going to be there the day it was supposed to be taken.

    Course highlights:

Overall, the highlight of the class was Sra. Landon. She cares so much for the students and the students absolutely adore her. We learned additional vocab to enhance our understanding of the language, but more importantly, we learned how to effectively communicate verbally. This was one thing that I really wanted to learn because I want to study abroad in a Spanish speaking country and without this class making me more fluent, I don't think I would be able to do that.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to do well in this class, I highly recommend you review all your previous notes from the other Spanish classes you took. Participation is huge in this class and there is nothing worse than forgetting a word and not being able to express your great ideas. Reviewing previous notes would eliminate this and even make your test scores higher as some of the topics overlap.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course! Although it is a fairly difficult class, the results of doing well are rewarding. If compliant with the course, students are able to build fluency with speaking the language as well as earn college credit. Thanks to this course, I have been more open to conversing with other people in Spanish.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were doing oral exercises with other students, writing letters to an imaginary pen pal from Latin America and learning about the cultures of Spanish-speaking nations. I learned about how to speak more formally in Spanish, how to write letters in Spanish and how to conjugate certain verbs in the subjunctive mood.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always make an attempt to speak Spanish, so that you can become less timid when using it as well as become more accustomed to speaking in one language and then switching to another. Make sure to do every assignment, especially the ones that require you to do essays that implement vocabulary words. Writing these essays help you get prepared for the exams.
