    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course was very different than a high school class. It was difficult at first, but I soon got the hang of things. However, my teacher didn't give directions clearly all the time, so it was very hard to figure out what was expected of us. Over all, the course was not bad at all, I even enjoyed it!

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this course was getting to read other peoples stories. You got to see what other people experienced, which was very interesting. Some of the stories that I read, I would have never expected some of my colleagues to have been through or experienced something like that. I learned what a comma splice was, and that I tend to use a lot of them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to work on your essays at home. You do not want to come to class unprepared. These things sound like common knowledge, however most of the people in my class, myself included, came to class unprepared more times than not. Do not procrastinate.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend Comp 1 with Ms. Yarbrough because this is a college and high school credit class. Which means tuition will not have to be paid for. Therefore, paying for your basics is cheaper and easier. The teacher is very informational and prepares us. She makes sure we understand the workshop and walks us through the essays.

    Course highlights:

I gained more knowledge about writing essays in one semester than I did my entire junior year of high-school. It is a tough step going to college, high-school, working, and living on your own, but Ms. Yarbrough made it as easy as possible. She was very helpful, understanding, and always makes sure we understand the assignment.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice I would give to students taking Comp 1 would be to ask questions as often as you can. My one mistake would be not asking questions and I would get lower scores on my papers. Also this is a workshop class, which means all the lessons are straight out of the textbook. If you can not get a answer from the teacher or the internet the book is the most helpful spot.
