    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend AP Literature if you're into actively reading and understanding components of Literature such as characterization, theme and other purpose and styles the author uses when writing literature.

    Course highlights:

I really liked our discussions on pieces of literature. Because we rely on deep thinking to understand what happened in novels and poems that we read as a class. I also enjoy the writings because it improves our vocabulary and understanding.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I hope I don't seem drastic but, READ READ READ! When you get habit of reading it helps when you have to do tests, essays, and discussion. And this is a college level class so you will see subject matter and terms you don't understand. Don't be afraid to ask your teacher or use resources like the internet for words you don't know.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this class with Mr. Kersey because not only does he make everything fun, he makes sure we're getting the information we need to be successful in his class and on the AP exam.

    Course highlights:

Throughout this class we read books that were sometimes challenging to understand the plot completely. Mr. Kersey helped us recognize symbols and meanings within these books. We also learned many new vocabulary words that I love to use in my every day conversations with friends and families. With these new vocabularies we also focused on writing 5 star, college level essays. We worked hard every day and each day was as enjoyable as the day before.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering this course, make sure that you are determined to study and focus. Although Mr. Kersey is pretty laid back, it is important to have that balance between fun and work because he will not chase after you to turn in your work so it's completely your responsibility.
