Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
I would recommend this course because I truly believe it does help you prepare for college. Going over math from years ago is very helpful, also the class is high paced and hard so it also helps in college readiness.
Course highlights:
The highlights in this course would be refreshing our minds on simple algebra, trig and calculus. Learning about solving a quadratic function with matrices was very helpful. My teacher Mrs. Yost is also fantastic, she knows that everyone in the class knows the material, but just has forgotten about it over the years. Therefore it is really helpful that she is patient and explain things well to the class as a whole.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
You must do the homework, practice with all the lessons is key for truly understanding them. Also, it is very helpful to have your own calculator, due to the fact that the class does programming and lessons on the calculators, and a lot of data is stored on them.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
ICM with Mrs. Yost is not your normal math class. Mrs. Yost somehow makes learning math fun. This class is a perfect combination of reviewing math you've learned throughout high school and preparing you for college math.
Course highlights:
The highlights of the course are the linear and quadratic labs. We spent multiple days gathering linear and quadratic data through fun and entertaining activities. We then took the data and converted it into equations and graphs.
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
Taking the time to actually do the homework is key, especially if what you learned in class isn't quite clicking for you. Personally, I understood the lessons quickly, so I didn't need to spend much time studying. Getting extra help outside of class is another huge step to success, if you need it.
