Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course provides a strong foundation in psychology and the inner-workings of the brain and why people behave the way they do.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the projects that allowed us to take our psychology knowledge to a higher level. I also liked the movies we would watch that exemplified different psychological phenomenons.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study the vocab! If you aren't going to read the entire textbook (which I strongly recommend), then at least know the vocabulary. It is very important for the quizzes especially.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class was an absolute blast! Not only does Ms. Prather make taking notes fun and entertaining, I actually looked forward to attending class every single day.

    Course highlights:

The highlights? Disorders. Everything from schizophrenia, eating disorders, and psychopathy. With daily night reading assignments and daily lectures, information is packed in the class.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Flash cards! For the love of good grades, use flash cards to study terms! During some units, you can have as many as 40 terms to memorize. Make it easy on yourself; use flashcards.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who has a fascination with psychology because this course not only pushes you to dive into the curriculum, but Ms. Prather herself makes the course interesting to learn about.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was learning about the different types of sleep disorders and mental disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. Although finding eating disorders a highlight may sound morbid, it opens your mind to understand what they are actually about and it helps people see that eating disorders are not something that you can just control because it controls you.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Ms. Prather does a lot of quizzes and they are all fill in the blank quizzes that she puts up on the board. My advice is to do exactly what she tells you to do which is read the book, take notes on the chapters, do the vocabulary, and pay attention in class. Also study any notes that you have taken because you need to be able to recall the information for the quizzes on the spot.
