    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This was the most interactive course that I have had so far in college. Every week we used Metl to post responses to assignments, and every assignment except for the test was collaborative. Because of the nature of critiques, we were encouraged to share thoughts in a very unique way. There were no wrong answers, only answers that you can or cannot defend. Answering questions required deep thought, and assignments were challenging, but not unfair. Even though I am a Global Studies major, this was my favorite class of the semester.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the joint assignments. Groups were randomized every time, and I had to always deal with different beliefs and attitudes. I learned how to work with a rotating team, and how to defend a criticism.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend that students research how to critique literature before arrival. There are many different vocabulary words: such as Pathos, Ethos, and Logos. Students have to identify these concepts and then critique each. I believe that the jump from simple essay writing to critiquing is involved and that it is better to be prepared.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because it made me become a more sophisticated writer. The course load was manageable and the professor was easy to communicate with. The professor aloud rewrites on essays to correct grammar for a higher grade.

    Course highlights:

I gained a lot from this course. One thing was how to write different types of essays like process and comparative. Another thing I learned was how to plan out what I wanted to write.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to do well in this course, you need to have a few ideas of what you want to write about because you choose each essay topic. You need to do the readings that are assigned since they are on the quizzes.
