    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to anyone who has even a speck of interest in the written language and the art and formality of the beauty of the progression of English. Studying famous speeches and even more famous controversial books is mesmerizing and changes the opinion of any book you have ever read or plan to read.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were by far the controversial topics and having the opportunity to discuss them through books that multiple generations have grown up reading. I learned a lot about the fundamental styles of writing and language but also how to influence people through the power of rhetoric. This class embalms the true meaning that words are our biggest weapon.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard and pay attention the writing. Books are more than that this year and same with every speech. They are just words before you take this class but now each word and the meaning behind it is a story.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course even to people who don't enjoy English mainly because Mr. Burge makes the class so enjoyable and interactive that you hardly feel as if you are in a classroom. The beauty of actually making a book or a play come to life is perfectly molded and applied in this class.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the books and plays we had the opportunity of enjoying. The beauty of reading Shakespeare, the brain-twisted read of The Martian Cheonicles by Ray Bradbury, the beautiful flow of works from iconic poems, and the never could put it down page turner of Edgar Allen Poe. I learned the difference in writings and how there is always a story or poem or play to fit your mood and that English caters to you, you don't have to cater to it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Enjoy yourself. Stand up and read Shakespeare even if it doesn't make sense. Enjoy each book and write the papers. Answer questions but also ask them. Don't be afraid to become confused, stay ahead with your reading and read an extra book. Just enjoy the art of words.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I love this class because it prepares you for the future, and it forces you to think outside of the box

    Course highlights:

I took part in a Capstone project, learned how to create a portfolio and a proper college style research paper

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's hard but at AACT we push though it in the end! The teacher is funny and suportive, the class is based on college level academics and creates a confidence about the future.
