    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course only if you have other English teachers that are willing to help you.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to be a little bit more independent when it comes to writing.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I recommend just doing the work as soon as you get it and make your essay responses long because in this class it is better to have longer essays where the writing isn't great than a smaller well written essay.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great step towards college as it provides more in depth analysis of each piece of literature. Also the level of expectation is highly increased so it prepares one for the norm of college writing and the need for promptness.

    Course highlights:

I have gained a greater respect for writing and revising. Although writing is one of my most favorite things to do, this year I found I must work more diligently to reach the standards I wanted to obtain. This taught me that despite talent one may have in anything, hard work is necessary for every aspect of life.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Despite any path you want to choose in life, if it involves college, take AP English. English is much more than Shakespeare's plays or the other of numerous authors that have been dead for more than twice the years of your life. English is about communication and expressing the inner thoughts one has. Anywhere anyone can go, they will need to express what they are thinking. Also this class will really prepare each student for the expectations of college.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is highly interesting and intellectually stimulating. The class discussions that we have help me perceive literature in a wonderful new way and help drive my love for literature further. It is a very helpful course for anyone as it is important everywhere to be able to communicate effectively. But this course is particularly important to those who wish to major or minor in college with some form of English degree.

    Course highlights:

I loved reading more poetry and from various authors and time periods. It was also great to read more short stories as previous English courses seemed to focus mostly on novels, with the occasional Shakespearean play.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always start writing assignments early as there is a very high standard of grading for AP styles essays. One must be responsible and manage time especially well in and outside of class to complete work on time.
