Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP English Language and Composition taught me about what kind of writer and thinker I truly am. It taught me to not only look at the concrete aspects of a situation, but to look at things through a more abstract point of view.

    Course highlights:

This course was always a glimmer of light during my day. The most memorable part for me, was learning all of the rhetorical devices. Within a few short days of learning, and studying them, it was not long before I could watch a commercial and pick out how egos, logos, and/ or pathos was being used. Throughout that unit, I learned that there is more than just words behind the English language, and that everything has its purpose for being in a sentence or phrase.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

DO THE WORK. You can not be lazy in this course, for your grades will suffer. Take notice of everything that your teacher is teaching, because it will surely be used in the final exam.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Prior to this course I was clueless. Writing has never been a passion of mine, and I never excelled at it. Not having this skill hindered me from having full potential in English classes. I recommend this class to anyone. Whether you're passionate about writing or you're not.

    Course highlights:

The biggest highlight of this class was knowing your rhetorical devices. These devices make your writing pop, and they will never make your writing bad. Make sure you know and retain these rhetorical devices.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

When you take this class, make sure you always ask for help if you need it. It is never good to sit in class clueless. Also, do not wait until the last second to study or write papers, study some every night.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I think that learning to improve your writing skills is a great resource and preparation for college courses.

    Course highlights:

The argument and debate unit was the most fun. We wrote essays and read them as speeches about a debated topic against one other student, and the class voted on the winner.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't put your essays off until the last minute, start as early as possible and really try and edit and improve your essay before the due date.
