Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP United States History was one of my favorite classes. It is so important for all of us to share a strong understanding of our country's background. It shows the complete story of where we came from, and why we are who we are. If you're looking for a social studies class that is more than just facts and dates, then APUSH is the course for you.

    Course highlights:

I learned a great deal about our country and its history, everything from colonization in the 1600s to the 21st century. The American Revolution was a major highlight of the course. It was really neat learning about the genesis of our country, the very beginning.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

If you're on the fence, I suggest asking someone who has already taken the course in your school. Although my experience was great with APUSH, I have heard that it truly depends on the teacher. Your teacher can either make the materials tough or boring if they so choose, but they can also make them easy and fun to learn, just as with any class. Just ask someone who knows the teacher and knows the course. They will help you choose!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course. I thought that it was a great way to challenge myself during my second year of high school. My teacher was extremely good and he was one of the main reasons that I would recommend this course.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the course was that it related to American History. I really loved learning all of the small details about our government. I thought that it was cool how you could really follow the story of history in the class. Another cool highlight was how my teacher taught the course. He presented the information almost like a story so it was really cool to see the information this way. It made note taking and retention of the knowledge much easier.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I think that the main way to succeed in this class was to know what to study. Reading the AP textbook was a huge help. It included all the information for tests so it was critical to read. Another way to study was with videos. I found some videos on youtube that highlighted each chapter. It was a great extra way to do a little bit of extra studying on specific topics. Another critical study tool would be getting the AP review book. The review book had a lot of practice problems and it really helped to prepare me for the AP exam at the end of the year. A final piece of advice would be take good notes. For my class we had to take our own notes so this was a critical piece to studying as well as just retaining the knowledge that we learned in class.
