    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course because it shows you so much about literature. You do not only study the work but also the author and what brought her/him to write that piece of literature. You are able to understand how the work was influenced by what was going on around the world and vice versa. It is a challenging and very interesting class.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were sitting in grups an discussing parts of a novel, trying to understand how a certain qoute embodies a point that we were trying to make. It is extremely rewarding when yu can back up an argument that you presented.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to do well in this class, you must be willing to write very long essays. Although it is not difficult when you have paid attention in class, you must be able to spend a lot of time doing the work for this class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it teaches you a lot about life, it may also even answer some life questions one has. Another thing is that the teachers also help you out and they will always be there to answer questions. Another reason why I would recommend this course is because your writing will improve conspicuously. Lastly, there are a lot of great topics that will be spoken about such as the human spirit and more and there are many opportunities to work in groups.

    Course highlights:

The highlights I gained from this course of IB English were advanced vocabulary, such as SAT vocabulary. Also, I learned more about life and how important it is, I learned the philosophical view points of life, and I gained a lot of information about the human spirit and how it affects our life and our choices.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

In order for one to succeed in the class, you should focus on higher level vocabulary because it plays a big role in the class. Also it will make things much more easier for one to understand, for example poems are given to analyze which means there may be words one doesn't understand which is why it is good to always look up words one doesn't understand. Some study tips would be to read the chapters assigned and pay attention to details because the test require answers with full details.
