AP Lang was a highly enjoyable course; Mrs. Rinehart is a wonderful teacher that prepares you very well for the AP test. The course itself was also interesting.

We read from many great forms of literature and writing that weren't too difficult to analyze once you knew what to look for. Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Lang was a rigorous but enjoyable course. My teacher was wonderful! She was a tough grader, but very helpful in her critique. We read a variety of things- novels, short stories, poems, news editorials- so it was always interesting to find how concepts relate, and the literature made us think hard and in new ways.

    Course highlights:

AP Lang helped me write very well, especially under tight time constraints, and to analyze and understand anything I read. This course also taught me how to synthesize various sources effectively and create a strong argument. My class had insightful discussions about many topics and books, which were always eye-opening and intriguing.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the reading and if you can, reread. Annotate while you read, and try to relate it to some other literature or event. Always look for how the author is trying to get the reader to respond; take it to the next level and you'll stand out.
