    Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    Mrs. Guarnere prepares you immensely for the test and how to ace the AP exam. You learn to craft your own essays as well as understand rhetorical strategies and devices other authors use in their text to enhance their argument.

    Course highlights:

    The highlight was that I became a more skillful writer and I learned how to use techniques I saw from other writers in my own essays.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Be prepared to work and to write. It is a lot, but it is worth it.

    Because you learn a lot through the year and she is an amazing teacher that you learn to appreciate.

    Writing essays and being graded at a college level if you like being challenged.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    Mrs. Guarnere covers important swaths of English literature and ensures that students have all the tools necessary to write the perfect essay. This course is a rigorous upgrade from English II, however Mrs. Guarnere's flexibility ensures that most students' needs are met.

    Course highlights:

    The highlights of this course were working with persuasive prompts. Mrs. Guarnere taught me how to hone my creative potential, and expand upon my tool kit of persuasion. This class offered me the ability to explore my preferred writing style, and refine it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    Don't get discouraged by low essay grades; use each mistake as a stepping stone to success.
