Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for anyone who is interested in fashion and who would love to learn more about the careers in the industry because there are many that, going into college, students do not initially think of. This course gave me a fresh perspective of the industry.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot from the guest speakers who came in because they have first hand, current experience that was very interesting to learn about.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise any future students to study hard for this course and to rely on going to classes and taking clear notes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it pushed me to always do my best. I would work extremely hard on each project, and this allowed me to better understand the material and elements of design that were prominent in every assignment we had in the class. The teacher expects a lot from you, and I was always trying to impress her which is what pushed me to succeed I believe. She's a tough teacher but very intelligent and I really enjoyed going to class everyday.

    Course highlights:

I think the concepts that were stressed the most throughout this class were the elements of design. We learned how each element is present in clothing and how these elements are also present in artwork. We also were taught how to be designers and how to create new things unknowingly. For example, we used a template to draw a figure and we started with a shift dress on that figure. In each new dress we drew we had to make one change, and by the end we had about 30 new dresses or outfits that we created on our own without realizing how creatively we were thinking.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the work- do not let yourself fall behind. In each class we had mini projects or exercises we worked on each day in class, and if you didn't finish them it was your responsibility to finish them on your own time. She uses powerpoints to lecture occasionally, and I found that taking notes really helped me to study for the quiz we had. My last piece of advice is to always ask her for help and her opinion, she's extremely helpful and knowledgeable and will always give great feedback. Work hard and you will do very well.
