    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Taking this class in the summer allowed me to focus on just this course and really understand the material. Smaller class size also helped.

    Course highlights:

I plan on applying to medical school, this course taught all basics of organic chemistry and prepared me for the organic chemistry section on the MCAT.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with homeworks and reading weekly so come exam time you do not need to cram.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it pushes students to focus on little details and truly think through each problem and figure out the different ways in which molecules react with each other.

    Course highlights:

I gained a new way of thinking from this course. With the help of a model set, I learned about favorable reactions, molecules' energies, and electron movement. One of the biggest highlights of this course was the multi-step synthesis, which taught us ways in which we can start from a single product and use different mechanisms and reactants in order to obtain a specific product.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to start studying early. This course consists of only exams and no homework or any other form of credit. The best way to study for organic chemistry exams is to simply practice. Practicing allows you to get comfortable with the new material and will help you tremendously when it comes time to take the exam.
