Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course goes further in depth with our country's government. The 2016 presidential election was occurring while I took this course and it really helped me understand why people supported the people they did. I learned how the government works and the people/ groups behind it. There;s a lot more to the government that people don't realize and AP Gov helps bring to light the way it all really works.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this course was during the election. Every other Friday, each student had to submit and present a political cartoon then verbally analyze it for the class so we could see the way they interpreted it. During that portion of time, I was able to learn more about my classmates political opinions and affiliations just by the way they presented their cartoons. Those were always the most fun for me. The political debates were really heated when the cartoons involved the election.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to read, work, and write. There are dally assignments assigned with daily readings. The questions aren't only fact based either. She will force you to think on your own and provide your own opinions with reasonable support. The work load is large but you will leave the course with a better understanding of the way our country works. Also be prepared to be in debates and speak in front of others. Participation is a large factor in that class.
