Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I had to take this course, but I wasnt thrilled. However, this course analyzes the ways that language and texts can be examined to accomplish things in society as a whole and within our own field of study.

    Course highlights:

It was really interesting and opened my eyes to research processes and how to effectively argue in order to get a point across to an audience. I learned the different perspectives of arguments, how to properly communicate and how to appropriately disagree with someone else. While this course focuses mainly on research, it really helped me to shape the day-to-day communications with others and writing skills for analytical texts as well.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. Do a little bit every day on the research and don't try to procrastinate. It isn't hard work, but it is a lot of work.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I was in a magnet program in high school and took many English classes, but this professor is very good. I like how he teaches the class and takes you through everything step by step.

    Course highlights:

Again, the step by step was very helpful. Good classroom discussion. Workload was manageable, not ridiculous. He isn't boring or difficult to follow/understand.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you did well in high school with English class, you should be fine. Just go to class and listen to what he teaches and you will be fine.
