    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is vital to any nursing student. It outlines skills that you will have to do for clinicals and later on in your carrer. It also ties into the theory in nursing.

    Course highlights:

I learned a variety of skills such as: hand washing, standard procedure, medication administration trach care, ng tube suction, foley catheter placement, and more. This course again is vital for nursing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Look over the books and skills in your own time. Instructors can be tricky and you might not work well with them so make sure you know how to do it yourself at the end of the day. Focus on the theory and don't take shortcuts. This course is a big part of NCLEX so always keep in mind that the theory is what you will be tested on. The lecture gets harder but just read ahead when you can. Note cards may help you or just re reading. Depends on the student and their type of learning. Don't give up, you CAN do it. Take your time, look for any videos online, read skills over, ask for demonstrations, listen in lectures, and study.
