    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

English 3 AP is an excellent to study and know great literature. The essay practice can be tricky at first, however students writing ability skyrockets by the end of the course. Ms. Stelly thoroughly prepares students for the AP exam. While an A in the class is difficult to obtain (as the essays make up a large percentage of the major grade category) is it doable, and for those who enjoy reading and writing, this course is very interesting and challenging.

    Course highlights:

The controversial research paper daunted me at first, and I dreaded the second semester because of it. However, with the right topic, the paper was actually very interesting and rewarding to write. This experience has prepared me for research papers of a similar nature which I may have to write in college.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read all of the books, and be prepared for the LTD's. Study for the daily grade vocabulary and terms quizzes, these can raise your grade after a rough essay.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Stelly has taught me to love a course that I never even thought I could remotely like. If you think, "Wow, AP English sounds like the most boring class," I encourage you to rethink taking this course, because Ms. Stelly will change your view on the first day.

    Course highlights:

Ms. Stelly's personality makes you feel like you are her best friend. She teaches in a way that makes you love what you are learning no matter what it is.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

One thing that Ms. Stelly hates the most is cheating especially since she is the leader of National Honors Society. I also would recommend you read all of the books throughout the year and come to class prepared for discussion.
