Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is relevant to anyone pursuing a career in health and fitness or someone who possessing a passion for exercise. Doc. A is extremely knowledgeable but does an amazing job at breaking things down enough for anyone to understand.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to think outside of the box. Doc. A is fairly straight-forward with her material, however, her exams find ways to make you view things from a different perspective. This approach really prepared me to take on the real world where things are not always black and white. Additionally, any opportunity to expand my knowledge of the human body is a great experience.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in lecture. 70% of what she tests you on is based on what she says in lecture and not what is in her notes. As tempting as online shopping can be, try to really focus on what she is saying and when she says it.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it fully prepares you for internships and jobs in fields such as athletic training, personal training, and pre-physical therapy! While it is a lot of information and can be difficult at times, everything is so applicable and you get hands on experience in the lab with putting someone through an exercise test.

    Course highlights:

I learned the ins and outs of putting someone through graded exercise tests in order to assess their fitness level, and then how to prescribe an exercise program that is right for them. I learned about the many risk factors for exercise, and I was able to properly educate my family members on how to stay healthy and in shape to prevent things such as cancer and dementia.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Start studying the material early. It all connects and you will use everything you learn on the practical lab exam and the cumulative final exam. Most of it is common sense once you understand the concepts, but you can gain proficiency in the lab with actual execution of the material.
