Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    Necessary for most engineering majors!

    Course highlights:

We learn about the stress and strains of materials and what will cause rupture or failure

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to office hours, seek TA's when you don't understand the material.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course, specifically taken with Dr. Jenkins. He is kind and willing to help students who have trouble grasping concepts. His exams are challenging but fair. If you do his homework and use the book to help, you can get an A. He's a very charismatic man who tries to make class interesting for his students by joking and using props. Students matter to him and you can tell.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much in this course. Not only did I learn the material but also how much I can teach myself under the guidance of a helpful and intelligent professor. I was afraid of this class because I disliked statics so much; however, Jenkins helps you learn and succeed.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework as soon as you learn the lesson on it. Use the book when things are tricky. If you master the homework questions and teach yourself whatever can't be covered in class, you can ace all the exams. Don't miss class, it's worth your time to go.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Jenkins is a very knowledgeable professor who expects the very best of his students. He wants you to succeed but sometimes he believes the course material is easier than it actually is. However; this class is do-able if you put the time into it.

    Course highlights:

Very good information of how materials fail. You will never look at beams the same way.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to not get behind, do the homework and prepare for quizzes.
