    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class is extremely interesting. The books assigned, if read, offer enriching and incisive accounts of lamentable social truths, and the material covered in class covers a multitude of disciplines that debunks the foolish perception that anthropology is a useless social science that strictly follows primitive societies from the lens of a "civilized" western mind.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the life of other human beings, living lives far different than my own, through their own experiences, struggles, and personal values. The first book read, in particular, presented a gruesome recollection of homeless living for indigent heroin addicts in San Francisco. The social, political and institutional forces analyzed throughout the book essentially exemplified the issues covered in the class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely do all the readings, otherwise you will lose track of the class proceedings and fail to take full advantage of a wonderful class that covers widespread social issues, truths, and realities.
