    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I've learned so much from this course including the use of several new tools. The course has the student in a team environment design and build their own project. It is very hands on and the experience is excellent.

    Course highlights:

In this course I learned how to use several tools that I will use in the workplace. The experience I've gained will help me obtain an internship prior to graduation. The team setting and lab work closely imitates a real world experience of engineering design.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The class is a two hour lab. Most students I know spend many more hours than that working on their projects.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's an excellent class that teaches you a lot in a short amount of time. It always feels rushed, but by the time you're done you've gained a lot of knowledge and fell like you could take on the world. It is also an excellent time to meet and make friends with other students in the same department as you.

    Course highlights:

You learn manufacturing techniques, especially machine usage. In addition, you learn how to make a good design, and more importantly, how to design something so that it can be produced.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Always stay on the ball, don't let any aspect of the project slip by you and keep tabs on your team mate's progress. Be very prepared to stay up long hours and face tough obstacles. There will be several times you want to give up, but don't. The professor and TA's are very approachable and ready to help.
