    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you are wanting to study Industrial and Systems Engineering, this class is extremely important. Operations Research 1 teaches optimization at its core. If you like this class, you will like ISE.

    Course highlights:

Learning about linear optimization was my biggest highlight. Finding the best possible solution given some constraints by using linear algebra and a few other tricks was really awesome. We also learned how to optimize nonlinear problems and how to use an optimization software called GAMS.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to do the homework early. Since it's not graded, it's pretty easy to let it sit until last minute. However, if you do it early, you will be prepared for the upcoming quizzes.
