    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was the first time that I truly fell in love with history. My teacher made an effort to teach the required information in an interesting and surprisingly relatable way.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this class was learning about the civil rights movement. He talked about each civil rights leader ranging from Martin Luther King Jr to Malcolm X. It was great to hear the opinions of my peers.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure that you continue to do your book reading. In this day and age it is true that you can easily find the answers to your homework online, but doing that will not prepare you for your tests in class or the AP exam. Stay engaged in class because that will help in remembering the information.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I felt that this course prepared me very well for the AP test, and although Mr. Noll no longer teaches it, I'm sure the curriculum is somewhat the same. He was able to seamlessly incorporate test taking strategies with the content of the course that allowed us to take the AP test with ease.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights that I took away from this course included test-taking strategies as well as lots of curricular information. I learned how to answer multiple choice questions even when I don't know the answer, and I learned how to effectively answer short-answer questions. I learned about important historical events as well as important historical figures and how they've influenced our country.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest reading the textbook and working ahead if you have other non-curricular time commitments. I would also suggest studying the core concepts and worksheets before class exams and the AP test.
