    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to all the juniors at Downingtown East because of the impact it has had on me as a writer. Prior to taking the course, I had barely written any 5 paragraph essays and no research papers or poetry, but this class was an ideal introduction to all facets of writing and prepares you well for writing college essays the next year. Also, the friends you will make in the class are unlike any other.

    Course highlights:

We covered all periods of English literature, from the Renaissance to contemporary writing, and had a lot of fun projects, like acting out plays or dressing up as authors and poets to have creative and dynamic discussions in their personalities. A lot of reading, analysis and writing papers is involved, but the work is interspersed by a lot of fun projects.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework on time, and definitely do not hesitate to talk to Mrs. Marcakis if you need help. She is super friendly and will read your papers in advance or give you feedback anytime.
