    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because all of the teachers involved strive to help you, if you are willing to put in the work as well. They are all super nice and very funny, especially Ms. Shovlin!

    Course highlights:

We learned to look at movies in a more in depth way and see just how character placement and veiw points can make a huge difference. We also were taught true meanings of books, but with a twist on what they could mean and what the author actually meant.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention to the reading and the movies. The packets really do help!

It takes up a lot of time so you have to be committed.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because of how it strips down the English language. The course really showed me how to "read". Learning how to analyze while one reads a novel or a passage really opens up literature. From an avid reader, AP Lang truly opened my eyes. On a less personal level, the class is almost preparation for the verbal SATs or ACTs. The class is definitely hard work, but in the end I really appreciated all that I learned.

    Course highlights:

Highlights from Lang include finding my strengths and weaknesses. The course is very honest in that it will expose weaknesses or unveil talents. I quickly learned oral presentations are not my strength, and by the end of the year my presenting skills were much stronger. The course highlights strengths and betters weaknesses.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice for AP Lang is to work hard consistently each night. Slacking off even one night can really set a person behind in the course. Following the syllabus to a tee is crucial, and one must always complete the readings. Also, the weekly Socratic Seminars are quite daunting, but once one gets through a session there is a huge feeling of accomplishment.
