    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Beall is a great professor. He is easily accessible and, although his coursework can be challenging, he attempts to help his students in every way he can. be sure to study your material for tests and quizzes and you should excel in his courses. His lectures are a little long but they are spiced with humor and have some fascinating information. If you get the chance, be sure to go to his office and ask about fossils! They are his hobby and he can teach you anything you ever want to know about terror birds.

    Course highlights:

Bio III covers animals from porifera to primates. You will go over taxonomy as well as in depth information about each phylum and some of the more outstanding classes. Each lecture focused on a different aspect of the animal kingdom. The class also includes a presentation and mock scientific article (lots of fun because he lets you pick the topic).

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely pay attention during lecture- he hits a lot of the most important topics and about 90% of the exams are thoroughly discussed in lectures. Also, make sure you know your taxonomy and the basic principles of biology. Common sense does not hurt either as some of the exam questions are practical applications and are almost like miniature logic puzzles. It sounds hard but it is a lot of fun and a fascinating subject.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Loved the course and material. The professor was very difficult to please.

    Course highlights:

Taking a third biology class helped me to develop a deeper understanding of the basics of biology. With this understanding, I was able to move on to more advanced biology courses and eventually earn my bachelor's degree. Now, I'm going to pharmacy school on a solid foundation in biology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Use office hours to your advantage. Dr. Hatle will remember your name and face and it will help him to believe that you care more about the course than the students who didn't go to office hours.
