    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry was never my strong subject. In high school I could never seem to grasp the basic concepts. When I entered college I failed it right off the bat. I tried everything- ACE tutors, online chats, study groups, study partners, office hours. Nothing ever seemed to help. When it came to enrolling for the course again I walked up to Ms. Hosseini my first day and told her this is my most challenging course and I would really like it if I could please meet with her on a regular basis. She is the first person I ever had by my side who helped me understand the basics of Chemistry. I still received a C in the class. However, I went on to take my HESI A2 test for entering the nursing program and I scored 100% in the chemistry category. I have her notes and her to thank for that. It's okay to be weak in some subjects, but it's not okay to give up. Thankfully she was the one who pushed me this far.

    Course highlights:

Through this course you gain study tips, fun ways to memorize formulas, and diagrams that allow you to remember key concepts. You gain confidence in your answers. Many times you second guess yourself, but Ms. Hosseini challenges you everyday in class where you don't have time to do that. She makes Chemistry a class you don't have to dread and you learn that your weaknesses can turn into strengths.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Listen, practice, and ask for help. No question is too embarrassing to ask. Chemistry is one of those subjects that most students find difficult to understand, so the odds are that at least ten other students have the same question as you. Sometimes you cannot find the right words to phrase your questions, however, Ms. Hosseini does a great job of helping clarify every detail so don't be afraid. I 100% recommend office hours, she always has time for her students and you won't ever regret going to her.
