    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend because it is a glimpse into how a real college class operates, which means you will gain responsibility of studying and knowing your material for the class.

    Course highlights:

The teacher knew what he was talking about, so he was very knowledgable about the subject. I learned many new things about biology and how it connected to various fields in science.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the chapters the day before he explains it, so you have an idea of what the chapter is about and the teacher emphasizes on the specifics in the chapter.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It is a fantastic course that prepares you well for the AP exam if you are willing to work and not complain. This class is amazing in respect that it connects what your learning to the real world as we are constantly looking at new studies, discoveries, and inventions in the biological field. One of the things that was quite interesting was the discovery of Quorum Sensing, a method of communication for bacteria that enables them to express beneficial phenotypes dependent on the time and place.

    Course highlights:

Among the many sub-subjects the ones that I enjoyed the most was learning about the process of natural selection and doing case studies on evidence of natural selection in the real world. Another part of the course that I enjoyed was cell biology and the method in which cells regulate themselves. During this unit the case-study on the revolutionary CRISPR molecule was extremely interesting as it has potential to edit the genome of a cell, potentially curing many previously incurable diseases.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you are always confident in the material that you are studying, learn to love the subject and the knowledge it holds rather than just looking at it as class work; you will learn, retain, and enjoy much better.
