    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class had reading that needed to be finished every night. Our class had note card quizzes almost every day; they were short quizzes that had about 5 or 6 questions about the previous night's reading. The AP questions on the tests took a while to read through and understand. It was a tough course and I would recommend it if you are good at history and if you have time.

    Course highlights:

What I liked about this class is that it really prepared me for AP US History. Because of the large amount of reading that we had to do each night, I quickly became used to taking notes. Also, this class teaches you to take notes over important things and not over extraneous information. I also learned to actually do the reading, since if you don't, you will quickly fall behind.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to take a lot of time for this class. If you're not good at history or memorizing facts, this course might not be the best for you. Make sure you follow directions and do the homework or you will fall behind. Mrs. McMahon is strict and tough, but overall, she's a great teacher and she prepares you well for the AP and AP US History.
