    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because although APUSH is a lot of work if you are dedicated to your studies, you will learn a lot not only about the history of America but also important life lessons on behavior, leadership, and character. Ms. Tenczar is a fantastic teacher who is passionate about the subject of US History and will push her students to their apex intellectually.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course was whenever we had a group presentation on one of the several significant dilemmas of the 20th century. Our presentation was on the 2008 Financial Crisis. We learned that the financial crisis was primarily caused by deregulation in the financial industry. That permitted banks to engage in hedge fund trading with derivatives. Banks then demanded more mortgages to support the profitable sale of these derivatives. They created interest-only loans that became affordable to subprime borrowers. Housing prices started falling as supply outpaced demand. That trapped homeowners who couldn't afford the payments, but couldn't sell their house. When the values of the derivatives crumbled, banks stopped lending to each other. That created the financial crisis that led to the Great Recession.

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class and take good notes during lectures. Read the textbook and complete all the assignments promptly as told by the teacher. Don't procrastinate in this class by studying everything the night before the test, instead study throughout the week or during the weekend for early preparation.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it helps build good study habits and understand how events in our history continue to influence us today. In addition, it is challenging and forces students to really understand and be able to use the information they learn. Not to mention that the AP test is a great way to earn college credit for much less money than taking the course at a university.

    Course highlights:

We learned the history of the United States starting with the Native Americans who lived here before the Europeans came. We covered the colonial era, the American Revolution, the Enlightenment and Great Awakening, Civil War, the fight for civil rights, both World Wars, American imperialism, women's rights, and many more topics all in detail.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely always do the reading and take notes. It helps so much with learning the information and makes the tests and quizzes a lot less daunting. Develop good study habits and you will succeed in this class.
