This class was tough.
This class was one of the most difficult courses I have taken in my entire academic career, but proved to also be one of the most enlightening. Dr. Davis was always willing to help and will match the level of effort you apply to the class. The content is very challenging and he makes you memorize more than many other teachers would, but it laid a very solid foundation for all of the classes it serves as a prerequisite for.
I learned how to write a thorough, accurate lab report, which is a necessity for any upper-level science class. Because we had to memorize all of the polyatomic ions and their charges, I was able to work through problems quickly and efficiently without having to refer to charts or guides. I learned to be able to relate atomic structures to their physical models and describe these structures in detail.

Advice for students:
Go to office hours and ask questions. The extra practice was so helpful and repetition engrained the material in our brains. Even if you do not need help with a specific assignment, just ask for more practice. This was incredibly valuable when applied to test preparation.
