    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it is very cross-curricular so no matter how obscure the subject you are fond of is, it will probably be mentioned in this class. It opens up doors to many parts of the world and different cultures. There is absolutely no busy work. Everything done for the class has a point, and the teacher REALLY prepares you for the AP at the end of the year.

    Course highlights:

I personally loved this course because I'm a huge history fanatic, but this was a great course because it encompassed a lot of different subjects over the course of time. It includes topics like technology, politics, cultural aspects, gender roles, and many more. This course is also all about the relationships between areas of the world and the short and long term impacts that events have on the world. You will not have to worry about specific minor details such as dates or small battles, but it is a great class that explains why the world is like it is today.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Some advice I would like to offer is to do your notes every single week! The notes grades might be in a small percentage category, but they are easy 100's that will boost your grade if you get a bad grade on a test or quiz. Also, there is a weekly reading check which counts as a quiz grade. The most important thing about any AP social studies course is to read the textbook!! I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to read the textbook. Also, try to not get behind because making up pages to read are just going to keep accumulating.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is very interesting and fun. I am not a big history fan but this class was fun.

    Course highlights:

Learning about the world in many different aspects was really helpful in trying to apply everything to our current world. It helped me realize how many things are really connected.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would take notes on everything you read in the book. Take notes on important ideas from every section of the book. Reading to comprehend is very important.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is required for all students. It is a genuinely fun class, but it requires a lot of reading and as many assigned projects.

    Course highlights:

I gained a pretty through understanding of world affairs thought human history, but this course mostly gives students the tools they need to think critically about changes in history, the similarities and differences in events, countries, and time periods.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You must take note! Crash course videos can help with general understanding, but many questions come directly from the textbook. Also be prepared to work with a lot of projects.
