    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend taking this course because it pushes you to not only know history, but to really understand why things happened and how each action influenced the rest of the world. It is challenging but it also pushes your limits.

    Course highlights:

I learned how the different regions of the world interacted and affected one another. I also gained a better understanding of the current international relationships in the world as I saw how each place got to where it is. I also learned how different the various cultures of the world are and why.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to have friends in the class that will help support you and vice versa. Schedule time to study every day after school and time to study before school the day of the test. Also, don't forget to practice the writing portion of the exam, as it makes up the majority of the test. Learn the format of the essays and try to keep your template as mainstream for all of the essays as you possibly can. Be brief and to the point, only spending time on what you need to get points.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Unlike most advanced courses, WHAP enables the students to better understand the history of this world through discussions as a class. The textbook is understandable, and the tests consist of AP test questions in order to be more prepared in the spring for the exam.

    Course highlights:

This course provided me with healthy study habits as well as new ways to take notes. Aside from learning more than I could imagine about world history, I learned to challenge myself, take risks, and to persevere.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is imperative that one read the assigned chapters in the textbook throughout the year as well as take notes. This will strengthen one's reading skills as well as their note taking habits. It may be a lot of information to retain and understand, however this course will prepare one for college and help the student gain the basic knowledge of how modern-Day civilizations came to be.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it provides a blanket analysis of the development of the world through the entire course of human history. It is well taught and interesting.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about Europe, particularly in the Dark Ages and Middle Ages. The political and cultural development were particularly fascinating as society moved into, and then out of, the system of feudal states in the centuries following the collapse of the Western Roman Empire.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to take good notes and to pay attention to the details mentioned in the textbook.
