    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend you take chemistry in high school because it will help you later on in physics and if you go to college and take chemistry it will help you have some knowledge about the background.

    Course highlights:

There was a lot of math involved in many of the problems that we did.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

To make sure you study and pay attention because if you don't it might be a struggle

    | Would not recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I do not recommend this course, even though it is mandatory, as the teacher seems genuinely uninterested in allowing her class to comprehend the teachings of basic chemistry, preferring instead to punish questions about the material and her teaching methods.

    Course highlights:

Though I did not learn much about chemistry in the class due to its incredibly hostile learning environment, I did learn to utilize outside resources to gain knowledge about the course. This course also taught me the value of having friends with older peers, as they provided me with advice about whom to contact and what to look for online with regards to outside learning material.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Should you take this course, be prepared to learn on your own. The class is already difficult on its own, since the concepts taught are foreign to anybody without prior experience, and is not helped by the uncooperative nature of the teacher. Do not let this hostility dissuade you from doing your best in this class, however, as even though you may not score the highest marks, the skills you are forced to learn will serve you well later in life.

    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class challenged me beyond measure and allowed me to realize my complete passion and potential within chemistry. Not only did my teacher, Mr. Smith meticulously teach every chapter, but he forced us to push ourselves within the lab to ensure our complete understanding of the topic.

    Course highlights:

The overall highlights of this course were in the lab. It was always fun to learn about various chemistry terms by applying them to fire or mixtures. Not only did I learn the proper lab safety, but the labs taught me the correct structure for any experiment and the research that follows.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice is to be prepared. I had no idea what to expect going into this class. By no means do I regret taking it, but it was a more difficult course i have completed. Be prepared to study and read a lot on your own. I feel as if self teach and comprehension is necessary in this course to completely understand all of the IB criteria.
