    Advice for students:

Read the textbook and come prepared for the quizzes and discussion. Don't assume you learned anything in middle school.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP United States History was a very high level course. Every day was set up in some way to have people work or get something done that way, which is mostly due to the large amount of material to cover over the entire year. Students learn a lot in this course and get a lot of information, however there is a hefty amount of work and responsibility that goes into the course, which may cause stress in some students.

    Course highlights:

There's no part of the course that really feels down or slow in some way. Because of the pace, everything goes by quickly and all of it feels well balanced out. One memorable activity was role-playing as a historical figure and having to act as they would have, which means temporarily adopting their ideals and expressing them as if they were yours, even if you didn't agree to them. This was a great way to show you truly understood the person and the time period.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to write a lot and to be stressed a lot of the time. Although the course is difficult, if you do your work like you're supposed to, you'll have an easier time passing the course. Pay close attention to everything in class, and, if you miss a day, make sure you get the notes for the day from a reliable friend.
