    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    AP United States History is a course that mentally engages students, and requires complete dedication and intellectual engagement. As it deals with concepts from the history of the United States, students begin to comprehend current events and the catalysts leading to this point in time.

    Course highlights:

    This course held a high value on being able to communicate verbally and present historical topics intelligently in front of a group. The course taught me how to be confident in material I speak about, and to use prior knowledge or recurring historical themes to prove claims when running out of concrete evidence.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

    AP United States History requires complete dedication and engagement in the material. Students should be aware of this when entering the course, and plan to spend intense hours studying the textbook in order to succeed on the tests. Ultimately, students should focus on learning the material, and good grades will come based on your effort.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    The course is challenging, interesting, and extremely educational.

    Course highlights:

    I enjoyed learning about Andrew Jackson's new democracy the most. The best part of the course overall were the debates and round table discussions.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    Read the textbook and don't get behind, it will help you on the quizzes. If you do a thorough job on your presidential outlines, it will also help you in the long run.
