Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Environmental Science is a course for people with any interests at all in the outdoors, animal interaction, plant life, geography, climate, and essentially any aspect of nature itself, as well as how human interaction impacts all of it. It’s a very hands on course and is great for students who are interested in completing interactive field work.

    Course highlights:

After taking this course, I have an entirely new found respect for our Earth and an eye opening perspective on the ways that humans have negatively impacted the environment and all those that live in it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest to definitely stay on top of labs and any projects that have impending due dates. While making sure you as an individual understand the topics at hand is important, it is also a great idea to collaborate with class members by sharing data and working as a team in order to get the best results from each lab or each lesson.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course, though seemingly inferior to the other bigger more rigorous AP science courses, was the most important to my high school success. The reason being is I've found "environmentalism" to be a popular topic on standardized test. Having a sense of comfort when tackling these exams makes the test a lot less nerve wracking. Lastly this class has been applied to almost every subsequent social studies class I have taken.

    Course highlights:

I liked the chapters on ecology, biodiversity, and pollution. Though not intended to be a doom-and-gloom class, it demonstrated the inevitable fate of earth if we, as humans are continuing to live the way we do now.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep an organized notebook as chapters seem to intertwine as the course moves on.
