    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course will definitely teach you the importance of being precise, especially with writing, and build a great sense of how hard of a work ethic is needed for college, all while being in the safety net of a high school setting.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to correctly apply literary criticisms to older texts and current ones. I also learned how to follow the newest form of MLA and how to revise papers in an organized and simple manner. Another skill that grew while taking this class was my ability to cross analyze peer reviewed articles and main historical texts.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't procrastinate on assignments, be prepared to read some pretty difficult texts, try to immerse yourself in the stories and think deeper than what you see on the surface, take detailed notes, and pay attention to DEADLINES!

Succeed by studying everyday and meeting the teacher on your own time for understanding.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class brought me a challenge as well as an enjoyable class experience. Mrs. Whittaker provides a solid workload that allows your grade to reflect the effort you put in.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot in her class about the origins of the English language as well as the way we use it. We read some great early English stories like Beowulf and went into deep analysis of the story itself.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Just do your work and don't procrastinate. Mrs. Whittaker recognizes the work you put in and will work with you if you are struggling. She enjoys what she teaches and it is definitely apparent in her teaching style.
