    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP Chemistry is a great way to start to actually understand everything you've previously learned in science classes but didn't quite get. Mr. Davis is very passionate about his subject, and though I'm not a huge chemistry person, I look back on the course with fondness. If not for the actual subject, I am fond of the understanding of chemistry that I was given.

    Course highlights:

I gained a much deeper understanding of chemistry. AP Chem focuses on the "why" and "how" of chemistry more than my previous science classes have, and it prepared me very well to take AP Bio this year. If you can do well in this class, then you will absolutely be prepared for other chemistry courses, biology courses, or even other random classes like Psychology that may have a chemistry unit or focus.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The homework is optional. Do it anyway. The problems he assigns will no doubt be similar to the problems on the test, and the tests are difficult, so the best way to prepare and study is to do the homework he assigns. Most of it isn't too difficult, I promise.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I totally recommend that you take AP Chem, especially if you are fortunate enough to have Mr. Long. He is able to make all of the confusing terms and procedures simple enough for us to get through, yet he keeps it interesting enough to make us engaged.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about energy and reaction potentials. These concepts tied in a lot of math, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Definitely be prepared to use a lot of math, even though it is a chemistry course.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely be ready to dive right in. The course moves quickly, so don't let yourself fall behind. The AP test is hard, but not impossible. If you pay attention in class and put forth some effort in preparing you will do well.
