    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP Biology brought new opportunities and new challenges. The material of the class was interesting, however it was difficult to apply those concepts to lab results, graphing, and free response questions. I would recommend the class because it challenges students with a wide range of interesting topics while still being manageable in retaining the information. An important tip for AP Biology is to do practice AP questions which focus on applying those concepts in an advanced way.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning more about the study of life. It was extremely interesting and fascinating to learn both the simplicity and complexity of organisms. I may intend to major in biology as well. I learned how complex the organization of the human body is, the classification of organisms, the evolution of organisms, metabolic pathways, and ecology. This course goes into topics much deeper than regular biology.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed, pay attention in class, ask questions, and also use your resources. Yes, use the internet, especially Crash Course videos, Bozeman science videos, and College Board practice questions. I would also advise you to try teaching the topics to fellow students. If you can teach a biological process, you must deeply understand it. I would also draw out diagrams or rewrite information into your own words. Use Quizlet, it is extremely helpful! Don't procrastinate when studying and make sure to know how to apply those concepts to complex data and examples.
