    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course due to the style it was taught in. The teacher was incredibly stubborn and almost determined to discourage his students in a way that was beneficial to none. He seemingly found joy in how hard his class was which made it all the more impossible- it is not easy to do well under a teacher who does not want you to. The lecture style instruction, although challenging, was not its hardest feature, but the quick transitions between topics / lack of accessibility for students to materials was.

    Course highlights:

I was able to experience an incredibly difficult teacher, who taught an incredibly hard class, while balancing that work with other challenging classes and still do well throughout the year. I learned not only Chemistry, but also how to balance my stress level throughout all of my classes. I also learned that not every teacher will be my favorite teacher, but I can still prosper. Finally, I had an experience with a teacher who will be one of my hardest teachers I will ever have and found techniques to help me cope with the difficulty.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I had to learn to prioritize. Many times I spent hours studying for Chemistry and none on my other courses. No matter how much I studied, I still did poorly in Chemistry and my other classes suffered as well. I learned to study what I knew I could excel in and spent the rest of my time in Chemistry. Also, I also was not aware of how much math was in this subject, which was my own fault, so if you are poor at math - as I am myself- I would not take honors. Finally, learn to take great notes and do them very quickly.
