    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

An understanding of physics is invaluable and absolutely necessary to be a successful engineering major in college. Mr. Etienne is a recent addition to Dobie but he has proven to be a great teacher.

    Course highlights:

I gained the opportunity to obtain a thorough understanding of physics, and the chance to learn enough to excel on the AP test.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to follow every word of the lecture, making sure you understand and follow from the beginning to the end. Thorough handwritten notes are necessary. Ask a question the second he loses you. Stay on top of the material, do the homework, whether he's grading it or not. Practice at home, or you'll drown in the material and not be able to recover.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it helps you mathematically understand formulas and equations better and it helps you understand how sciences all play together. You leave the course feeling like you've learned more than one subject.

    Course highlights:

The highlights from this course were definitely the labs. When you're sitting in class its can be confusing to understand how laws and theories play out from just being explain or just equating to prove them. But once you test it, once you see it for yourself, you feel like it completely makes since and light bulbs start to turn on and thinks start to truly make since. You learn that everything plays together and that there are sciences that effect you more than you thought they did.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Find a study group! The best times I felt confident in the material I was learning was when I was studying with a group of friends or even just one friend. My best friend and I would get together throughout the school year going over notes and worksheets, and it makes things so much better. You should definitely study, and you should definitely do it with a group.
