Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is by far the most scalable class I have taken to date.

    Course highlights:

I not only learned information concerning current events and topics of today's world, but also how to craft a complex research paper from it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read as much as you can in the topic you choose, and choose a topic you have a lot of interest in.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Capstone is an AP course which is unique compared to the structure of other, more traditional AP courses. The ability to pick your own project and self-direct yourself and your pace makes this class' scalability to students of all interests high.

    Course highlights:

The important things you learn in this course include how to organize your own, unique research project and method in an organized fashion, as well as writing a cohesive and well developed research paper.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pick a topic which you have a great amount of vested interest in, because you will be working with that one topic over a course of several months.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Besides researching scholarly articles frequently throughout the year, students have to carry out their own research through a designed experiment. It is definitely a worthwhile class if you are truly interested in a certain topic because there are no restraints on what you research, but if you don't feel passionate about anything, you will quickly be bored by the assignments.

    Course highlights:

So far, the highlight of this course was a miniature research experiment my entire class studied to determine whether FOX News or MSNBC News would be more politically bent in the 2016 presidential election. It was an effective way to introduce the research methods we would be using later in the year by having us work with a relevant issue that almost everyone had an opinion on.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to do all the assignments on time and actually read the articles that you search up. Much of the scholarly articles will have technical jargon that seems confusing, but if you choose a topic you are passionate about, you will be willing to overcome those hurdles easily.
