    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Carney was an amazing teacher. She treated it like a college class while still giving us the information. The labs were very helpful. The tests were a bit difficult however if you studied, it was easy.

    Course highlights:

Organic Chemistry alone with Biochemistry was my favorite part of the year.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

To be ready to study and work hard.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Chemistry has been a fantastic course this semester! Not only are the subjects of reactions, rates, and stoichiometry interesting, but they have very tangible applications. Our laboratory experiments help bring the material to life, and spark excitement for us students; the meaning of the concepts thus becomes very real and helps encourage innovative ideas. Even more, AP Chem can encourage one to dream about their future career and find confidence in their abilities as an academic. Surely, a fundamental science such as chemistry has the power to lay down the foundation for future discoveries and success in many different fields. I would therefore highly recommend this course to anyone attracted to the STEM fields!

    Course highlights:

The lab experiments were definitely the highlight. They allowed the material to come to life before your eyes, enhancing your understanding of the concepts. So far, I have learned about basic chemical nomenclature (i.e. the language of chemistry), reactions, solutions, periodic trends, and more!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Get your lab reports done early! They really sneak up on you!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This is the course that made me want to major in Chemical Engineering. It is a lot of lab work and practicing complex chemistry problems, but you can always ask for help and use your peers to help you. You are extremely prepared to take the AP Exam and for college-level chem classses

    Course highlights:

The "flipped learning" method. You learn the material through videos online and then come to class with questions and practice material. It helps you grasp the concepts.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

You cannot procrastinate or not do your work. While being in a group hides this during class, what you know or don't know will show on the test
