    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class challenges every part of your mind - critical thinking, analytical thinking, problem solving, math skills....it's a great all in one. It will really help you grow as a student, and you will be thankful for the skills you gained after you take it.

    Course highlights:

I learned so many valuable things in this course, but maybe the most valuable was the ability to problem solve within the context of the science world. AP Chem is like fast track science with a bigger lens. It's not your typical memorize the elements and reguritate the facts science course. The highlight of the class for me might be the labs because it was trial and error, which could be frustrating at times, but once you figured it out it was all the more rewarding. This class was all about solving the task at hand and working toward the "ah ha" moment.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be organized and work hard. If you are willing to put in the time and do your very best, then you will succeed. All you can do is your best, and that is all you need. Don't take this class if you are looking for an easy A, because for most it is not. The learning process is more important than the grade, and I cannot think of a better example of that statement than this course.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would only recommend if you have the drive and motivation to make it through one of the roughest courses Pine-Richland has to offer, and it taught me a lot in a little bit of time. AP Chemistry taught me to think for myself and be handed a problem and use all of the knowledge I have learned to find a solution. The course is a lot of work outside of class and is time consuming, but it prepares you for the rest of your schooling and teaches you how you learn best. You learn about yourself and how to prepare yourself for success after completing the course.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to problem solve and work my way around an application problem without it directly telling me what to find. I could come up with labs and perform them by the end of the year with only being handed a question that needed to be answered. The amount of knowledge gained is incredible, and you learn more about how the world works on a molecular level.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to be prepared to work hard everyday and never want to give up. Reviewing every night and finding examples and extra problems online are a must in order to keep up with the material and comprehend all that you are learning. I would say that you have to be willing to take time out of your schedule to focus on this class because if you do not keep up it will leave you behind. Since all of the material builds you have to start with a strong foundation and continue to successfully build off of it. You also have to be determined and never let a bad grade stop you from continuing to try. It requires lots of effort and time to achieve a good grade and understanding.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend the course because it puts a focus on learning the concepts. I allows the students to grow in different ways and experience the chemistry in the labs.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about chemistry. The AP curriculum covered a large amount of information that was well covered by the teacher.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the homework, as well as, the labs. The concepts from both the homework and the labs appear on the tests.
