    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it did wonders for my GPA. It is an AP course and there is a lot of work required, but it is very easy to get good grades. I would, however, recommend this more for seniors rather than juniors, just because of the teaching style. We had labs in this class almost every week, and each lab required its own lab report. Though the reports were tedious and time consuming, as long as you did what was required, it was a guaranteed 100 for a major grade. Same went for reading notes - as long as you have SOMETHING written down Mr. Milburn will give you a 100 for it. As far as learning the material goes, that's all up to you. The teacher, although super chill, does not teach very often and when he does its super confusing. Even if you don't know the material too well, I wouldn't be too worried, because there are massive curves on quizzes and tests. Along with curves, you get Chem Cash, which you can submit at the end of the grading period to bring up your grades for certain assignments. In conclusion, this class is very time consuming and I'll be honest you will hate it at times just because you won't know what is going on. If you want to take to course to learn about chemistry I wouldn't recommend it, I ended up getting a 2 on the AP exam. But if you are want to take a class for a GPA boost, go for it. I am taking AP Biology this year and while I do have more of an idea as to what is going on, I miss the carelessness I could risk in Milburn's class.

    Course highlights:

As I stated before, I did not learn much in this class, However, the days where we did fun labs were very memorable. We had at least 3 labs under the guise of chemistry in which we just made sweets and ornaments. Those were probably my highlights of the course.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say as long as you can manage your time well, or write really fast, you are good to go. At least 50% of my time in this course was spent just copying things down for the lab reports or chapter reading notes. Once you get those out of the way there really isn't much to the class besides studying the information.
